This is the eighth consecutive year that Banesco does the Participatory Budget with various organizations and projects in the municipality of Baruta. 1 million bolivars in total will be used to support five institutions this southeast area of Caracas.

This funding allocation process is part of Corporate Social Responsibility program of Banesco; it is about making the community organizations in the area propose projects of different nature: education, welfare or improvement of infrastructure for the area. The same project participants and applicants vote for projects to be started this year and in what order of priority.

The meeting took place in Ciudad Banesco, the headquarters of the bank in Caracas, last May 12 with a large attendance. After the presentation of each project, the participants went to vote for projects they considered to be most significant for the community. Once the votes were collected, the results were publically read.
