Juan Carlos Escotet Rodríguez: New Participatory Budget from Banesco to the Community of Margarita
Banesco Banco Universal leaded by Juan Carlos Escotet joined the municipality Maneiro, in Margarita (Nueva Esparta, Venezuela) to its plan of Participatory Budget that has already benefited many communities in the country.
The call for NGO’s and other institutions that operate in the Margarita Island will be waiting until October 16 to receive projects and other type of proposals. The bank will allocate a total of Bs. 800,000 to implement approved projects of the communities.
Luleyma Escalante, executive director of Banesco, reported that the time for nominations will close on 16 October, and that the selection will take place on October 30. Projects to apply should be confined to the areas of health, education, sports and culture. Those institutions that work and operate in the municipality Maneiro and that have legal personality have the chance to participate. They only have to follow a list of steps to start participating and have the opportunity to be benefited.
Previous Project Approved
Since 2008, thanks to projects supported by Banesco, more than 4000 beneficiaries -children and adolescents with and without disabilities, the elderly, teachers, volunteers and the general community- have been recognized.
Through the participatory budget, Banesco has made an investment of Bs. 3,250,086 for projects in health care, elderly care, education, culture and infrastructure, among others.
