Juan Carlos Escotet Rodr├¡guez: Banesco Commemorates 70 Years of the LVBP
At the beginning of October 2015, a group of former baseball players as well as personalities who have been associated with the baseball league and its teams were awarded.
The Venezuelan Professional Baseball League (LBVP in Spanish) turns 70 years of existence on 27 December. The official beginning of the anniversary celebration was carried out on Thursday 1 October at Ciudad Banesco spaces, the main headquarters of the Bank leaded by Juan Carlos Escotet of the LBVP.
Oscar Prieto Parraga, president of the LVBP, was accompanied by Miguel Angel Marcano, Chief Executive of Banesco; Hugo Labarca, Executive Director; Juan Francisco Puello Herrera, Commissioner of the Caribbean Confederation; Domingo Alvarez, general manager of the LVBP; and Yocoima Mata, managing LVBP Operations.
During this important event the commemorating logo of the 70th anniversary of the LVBP was unveiled as well as the new format that will regulate the championship 2015-2016.
In the event there were awards granted to all teams that are part of the League:
- Leones del Caracas
- Tiburones de La Guaira
- Tigres de Aragua
- Navegantes del Magallanes
- Cardenales de Lara
- Aguilas del Zulia
- Caribes de Anzoategui
- Bravos de Margarita
They were also recognized for their careers as players or coaches Victor “Vitico” Davalillo, David Concepcion, Robert Perez, Magglio Ordonez, Angel Bravo, Leonel Carrion and Gregorio Machado.
