Banesco Baptized the Digital Book Dedicated to the Leones del Caracas in Its 76 years

“101 Reasons to love the Leones and 10 reasons to be an anti-magallanero”, is the latest publication in the Digital Library, of Banesco’s Publishing-Fund Heritage Collection. It contains information and a vast number of graphic documents of the 76 years of livelihood of the Ninth. The book is available for download, for free, at Banesco.com

Banesco Universal Bank, baptized the digital book “101 Reasons to love the Leones and 10 reasons to be an anti-magallanero.” This is the latest publication of the Banesco Publishing-Fund, and it is an enthusiastic tribute to the heritage of the glorious franchise. Decade after decade narrates the history of the Leones del Caracas, through their idols, characters, triumphs, deeds and feats. The presentation was in charge of José Grasso Vecchio, Banesco’s CEO, in company of its authors: Javier González and Carlos Figueroa Ruiz; Luis Ávila, Chairman of the Leones del Caracas, as well as, the representatives of Venezuelan Professional Baseball League. The Publishing Fund and the Digital Library are a fundamental part of Banesco’s Policy of Social Responsibility and Sustainability.

The baptism took place past Thursday, on October 18th at Ciudad Banesco. José Grasso Vecchio, Banesco’s CEO, commented during the presentation of “101 Reasons to love the Leones and 10 reasons to be an anti-magallanero”: “this is a very special digital book, and it is the result of a very rigorous newspaper research and a huge respect for this sport, its deeds, statistics, development, the most remembered characters, triumphs abroad, the narrators, the failures and its unforgivable mistakes.”

This new title is the number 26 of the Banesco’s Digital Library. It belongs to a Heritage Collection, this publication contains a total of 295 pages which invites us to think about the cultural, economic and sociological projections that baseball has achieved in our country. Likewise, it renders an account of the imperishable rivalry with the Navegantes del Magallanes, which can be an interesting topic for any baseball-friend reader.

In his own words, Grasso Vecchio emphasized that this literary work has been arranged as a succession of briefs episodes, the book deepens through the decades, from 1942 until the 2017-2018 season, reviewing the achievements of this signature team. “This is the story of a Venezuelan institution that remains mingled with us, by delivering sleepless nights and happiness; a motto that has learnt to keep up with its first place in the fondness and faith of its millions followers”, he said.

Javier González, one of the authors of this publication takes part in the Banesco Publishing-Fund, he stated that this emblematic book “not only focuses on the players but tries to go farther by narrating the most iconic, symbolic and different moments of the Leones, in turn, those moments have caused an impact amongst its fans and to the representatives characters of the team; besides through this book it was possible to rebuild the history decade per decade until present days.”
