Juan Carlos Escotet and the Círculo de Oro
The Círculo Empresarial Leonés (Leones Business Circle or CEL) has announced the name of the awarded of the Círculo de Oro (Golden Circle), which went to Juan Carlos Escotet Rodriguez, the current president of the Financial Entity Banesco International and vice chairman of Abanca.
During the announcement of the winner, the chairman of CEL Jose Angel Crego, said that the grandfather of Juan Carlos Escotet and his father managed an armory in the La Rua Street and mentioned that Juan Carlos Escotet has always maintained contact and relationship with León, where Abanca is originated.
The contribution of Juan Carlos Escotet to the economic, business and social development of the province of León has had a very important role in the jury’s decision and his commitment to León for having opted, personal and entrepreneurially, by the province in his expansion plans in Spain.
In addition, in the year 2012 Banesco acquired the shareholding majority in Bank Echeverria and a year later, the bank was already operating under the brand Abanca, collaborating with numerous associations and collectives of Leon. Today, its investment in the province has reached over 105 million euros. It is present in more than 42 municipalities and serves more than 80,000 Leon citizens.
