Juan Carlos Escotet: Abanca Has New Goals Aimed at 2020
Abanca announced that it expects to arrive to the end of the triennium 2018-2020 with a tangible performance of its patrimony, ROTE, close to 10%. Also, Abanca expects to have a debt less than 3%, a capital “CET1” (the central measure from the regulator’s point of view) more than 13%, and a business volume beyond 75.000 euro.
In recent days, the fourth yearly convention of Abanca was held in which the balance of the Strategic Plan 2014-2017 was presented and in which a new stage began in which the bank institution pointed out as main objectives the transformation of the entity, the expertise of the client, and the recurrent profit.
The convention, whose title was “together the better”, was held in the A Coruña Coliseum. More than 4.000 employees were present and it has the presence of the President of the entity: Juan Carlos Escotet; the delegate councilor, Francisco Botas; of the general director of Spain operations, Luis Beraza, and of the assurance general director, Álvaro García Diéguez.
Escotet started the interventions by making a summary of the organization and procedure improvements made by the entity since the beginning in 2014.
“We have surpassed the objectives that we have set in the plan 2014-2017 regarding profit, business growth, capital, quality of the clients, and client satisfaction.”
Also, Juan Carlos Escotet mentioned that the success that the bank has had in the achievement of these objectives has allowed them to be the “leaders” of the financial system of Spain in the growth of interest rates, as well as the credit market quota, investment funds, life assurance, retirement plans, among others.
Abanca’s President also stated that this growth with solid bases is shown in a healthy balance and “solid liquidity position” being “among the entities with less risk the mayor percentage of credit over deposits.”
Finally, facing the challenges that this bank entity will live, he reminded his workers to get to know the clients via the use of “big data” in the homogeneous experience of the client in all the bank channels, the “extension” of the technology branch in order to give more efficient solutions and to bear in mind an innovative culture as the base of all the organization.
