About the eventIn order to celebrate this 10 years anniversary, an important event was held in Ciudad Banesco –Banesco’s headquarters in Caracas-, headed by Miguel Ángel Marcano, who is the executive president of Banesco; Enrique Planchart, rector of the Universidad Simón Bolívar, and Cristian Álvarez, editor of the Equinoccio Publishing House. It was attended by diverse narrators, poets, compilers, as well as journalists and other special guests.
During the event, the presentation of the most recent titles published by the Papiros Collection was also made.
The participation and opinions
According to Miguel Ángel Marcano, the close relationship between Banesco and Equinoccio, which began in 2007 with the production of the Papiros Collection, has filled the teams with pride and they can be sure that today everyone is pleased to have the privilege of spreading the creative work of well-known writers and also of the new Venezuelan authors.Cristian Álvarez, editor of the Equinoccio Editorial, highlighted the financial institution’s constant support for promoting literary creation. He wanted to express deep gratitude to Banesco for its significant contribution to the university and the Venezuelan letters and because the bank has hosting the Papiros Collection of the Equinoccio Editorial in its most prized projects of Corporate Social Responsibility.
Other activities heldDuring the act, a well-deserved tribute was paid to the writer Carlos Pacheco, who died in 2015 and who was the great impeller of the Editorial. His work Caracol del lenguaje: teoría y prácticas del cuento, topped the list of new titles presented in the auditorium of Ciudad Banesco.
