The French writer Pierre Lemaitre, the Madrilenian Sara Mesa and the Galician Xabier Quiroga are the winners of the XXII San Clemente Rosalía-ABANCA Awards, and recently received their awards at an event held at the ABANCA Auditorium in Santiago de Compostela. The contest was promoted by IES Rosalía de Castro Santiago, which has more than two decades of history, and which progresses in its internationalization thanks to the collaboration agreement started with Abanca in January 2016. The Galician bank has bet on these awards as an example of their commitment and responsibility to education and the future of young people.

In addition to the previous awards mentioned before, the Cultural Association Institute Rosalía de Castro took advantage of the literary awards ceremony to impose its gold insignia on the people who have collaborated in a special way with the institution in the development of its different activities. On this occasion Ramón Villares, President of the Consello da Cultura Galega, was recognized; Camilo Nogueira, politician and essayist; José Lorenzo, lawyer, and Ignacio Martínez Mendizábal, scientist and Prince of Asturias award for his research in Atapuerca.
