ABANCA Innova, an initiative through which ABANCA will invest 10 million euros in the development of new technology companies, closed the previous phase of its process of start-ups acceleration. As a result of this iniciative, the financial institution, which for the acceleration management of companies has the collaboration of Connector Startup Accelerator, has already preselected 13 projects among the set of applications received. Today, Juan Carlos Escotet, vice president of ABANCA, brings more details about these interesting projects and initiatives.
About the selection process
These 13 projects go to the next phase, called Start-Up Day and which is celebrated today,, March 10th, from which a panel of experts formed by partners and mentors of Connector and executives of ABANCA will choose the definitive list of projects that will participate in the Acceleration Program ABANCA Innova by Connector.
The companies that are selected for the program will have the support, experience and know-how of the directors of the entity, as well as Connector and the mentors assigned to this project.
Supporting the value of technological entrepreneurship
The ABANCA Innova by Conector Acceleration Program is one of the fundamental components of ABANCA Innova, an initiative launched by the financial institution with the aim of promoting the development of new technologies and entrepreneurship around them.
Located in the business ecosystem of the Polygon of Pocomaco in A Coruña, ABANCA Innova develops several actions of connection between technological knowledge and the market, such as the implementation of centers of excellence in emerging technologies, the development of training and mentoring actions, the collaboration with networks of diffusion of knowledge, universities and entrepreneurs, and the activity of incubator of companies.
The startups selected will get up to € 20,000 through a participatory loan. Also, the accelerated projects will benefit from the help of the companies that collaborate with the accelerator, will have access to the network of Connector, receive weekly training talks and have their own board of mentors, made up of experts in different areas.
